Transport
Following the recent Home to School Travel Assistance consultation, Surrey County Council’s Home to School/College Travel Assistance policies have been updated.
Code of conduct and behaviour standards when using school transport
- Under 16 year-olds:
Home to School Travel Assistance Policy for under 16 year olds - Surrey County Council
- Learners 16-19 and continued learners aged 19-25 years:
Under Surrey County Council’s Post-16 Transport Policy, once your child is no longer of statutory school age (i.e., after completing Year 11), the Council does not have a statutory duty to provide contracted transport. Surrey Transport may consider exceptional circumstances when granting post-16 transport; however, each application is assessed on an individual basis. Please note that Surrey County Council reserves the right to refuse transport if they determine that you do not meet the required criteria. In such cases, you will need to make alternative arrangements to support your child’s attendance at school.
If you wish to discuss your transport options, or require support with applications or appeals, please contact info@philip-southcote.surrey.sch.uk, and you will be directed to the Family Engagement Team for support.
If you have any queries regarding transport decisions, or concerns regarding existing transport arrangements, please contact travel.assistance@surreycc.gov.uk.
