The Sixth Form here at Philip Southcote School provides a safe environment for more vulnerable students, who require specialist teaching and pastoral support to access the curriculum.
Students in the Sixth Form follow a curriculum that meets their individual needs in order to prepare them for life after school, i.e. the world of work, college or a more specialist provision.
We focus on life skills and students' timetables are bespoke to ensure students gain the experience they need. This experience may be learning out in the community or learning in the classroom.
Literacy and numeracy remain an integral part of our curriculum and is embedded throughout our life skills. All students work towards accreditation tailored to their needs. Students have the opportunity to work towards accreditation in Functional Skills English and Mathematics, AQA PSE, and W.J.E.C. Pathways - Personal Progress, N.O.C.N. qualifications and where appropriate GCSE qualifications, dependent upon their individual level of attainment.
