Year 7 Sayers Croft Residential Trip

On the week of the 18th to the 22nd of April Year 7 had a weeks residential at Sayers Croft Activity Centre.

During the mornings the pupils took part in numeracy and literacy activities making good use of a new and exciting learning environment!

In the afternoon sessions pupils learnt valuable team building and communication skills whilst doing a variety of challenging outdoor activities from wall climbing, pond dipping, zip wiring to raft building.

All involved had a fantastic time and came away with both new experiences and skills to help us in the future.

Year 8 and the VG3 class went to visit the mosque in Woking which is 127 years old and the first Mosque to be built in the UK.  The group also explored the newly added prayer halls and the library where a guide answered questions about the Mosque and Islam.

First World War Battlefields Visit at Ypres, Belgium

This week two of our pupils accompanied by Miss Steer visited
the First World War Battlefields under a centenary scheme set
up by Education Secretary Michael Gove. This four day visit
was a tour to see some of the great battlefields and other
notable sites, and to take part in remembrance ceremonies on
the western front. Pupils were able to learn first-hand about
the sacrifices made by the troops and the personal stories of
those involved in the war effort.
